Dive-site story
Shark Island is a rugged rocky outcrop off the coast of Khor Fakkan in the Gulf of Oman. Its underwater landscape transitions from sunlit boulder clusters and shallow coral gardens into a gently sloping sand bottom on the seaward side. Rocky crevices shelter morays, nudibranchs, and schooling snappers, while the sand perimeter provides hunting grounds for rays and resting blacktip reef sharks.
Regular encounters with blacktip reef sharks patrolling the sandy edge
Granite boulders covered in hard corals that create crevices for hunting moray eels
Frequent sightings of foraging green sea turtles among soft coral patches
