This Privacy Policy describes our policies and procedures on the collection, use, and disclosure of your information when you use the DIVEROUT application and tells you about your privacy rights and how the law protects you. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
The words with capitalized initials have meanings defined under the following conditions. The following definitions shall have the same meaning regardless of whether they appear in singular or plural.
For the purposes of this Privacy Policy:
While using our Service, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you. Personally identifiable information may include:
Usage Data is collected automatically when using the Service. It may include information such as your device type, operating system version, app interaction data, crash reports, performance metrics, and other diagnostic data. This data is not linked to your identity and is used to improve the Service.
With your permission, our Service integrates with Apple HealthKit to read and write health-related data such as underwater depth, water temperature, and dive session information. This data is used solely to provide dive computer functionality and enhance your diving experience. Health data is stored locally on your device and in our secure cloud servers, and is never sold to third parties or used for advertising purposes.
With your permission, our Service may collect precise location data to record dive site locations in your dive logs and to display nearby dive sites. Location data is used to enhance your dive logging experience and to enable features such as dive site mapping. This data is stored in our secure cloud servers along with your dive logs.
With your permission, our Service may access your photos and videos to enable AI-powered underwater color restoration and to attach media to your dive logs. Media processed through our AI color restoration feature may be temporarily uploaded to our servers for processing. Your original media files remain on your device.
Our Service collects and stores dive log data including dive profiles, depth, duration, water temperature, and other dive-related metrics. This data is synchronized to our cloud servers to enable cross-device access and backup. You may also import dive logs from other dive computer brands (such as Garmin, Suunto, and Shearwater) into our Service.
When a public dive site has coordinates, we request marine forecast data from Open-Meteo to show wind, waves, swell, surface currents, and sea temperature. Requests are made by our server; this feature does not send your device IP address, account details, or precise device location to Open-Meteo.
The marine forecast can also include tide height relative to mean sea level. Coastal and harbor levels can differ, so confirm local official tide information before entering the water.
Open-Meteo receives the public dive-site coordinates and our server's request metadata to generate the forecast. Its own terms and privacy notice describe its handling of that information.
You may create an account or log in to our Service using the following third-party authentication providers:
With your permission, we use website activity to improve DIVEROUT and understand whether our advertising works.
You can change your choices anytime from Privacy settings in the footer. If you turn off usage analytics, Google may still receive limited statistics without using cookies where permitted. If you turn off advertising measurement, we stop sending further advertising measurement data to Meta.
The Company may use Personal Data for the following purposes:
The Company will retain your Personal Data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use your Personal Data to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies.
You may delete your account and all associated data at any time through the app settings. Upon account deletion, your personal data, dive logs, and any other data associated with your account will be permanently removed from our servers within 30 days.
The security of your Personal Data is important to us. We use industry-standard encryption and security measures to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected Personal Data from anyone under the age of 13 without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from our servers.
Your information, including Personal Data, may be transferred to and maintained outside your country of residence, including in the United States and countries where our service providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers and take reasonable measures to ensure that your data is handled securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
