Dive-site story
The SS Arrow, an oil tanker that ran aground on Cerberus Rock in 1970, broke apart and settled in the exposed waters of Chedabucto Bay. The massive stern section remains the primary objective, resting upright on a rocky seabed with its propeller, rudder, and fractured deck machinery still clearly defined. Cold North Atlantic currents wash over the twisted steel plates, which are thickly colonized by invertebrates.
Massive exposed propeller and intact rudder assembly
Expansive stern superstructure covered in cold-water plumose anemones
Sheltered pockets within the broken hull hosting dense aggregations of crustaceans and bottom-dwelling fish
