Dive-site story
Sunk as an artificial reef off the coast of Lunenburg, this decommissioned St. Laurent-class destroyer escort rests upright on an open seabed. The steel superstructure has accumulated dense cold-water invertebrate colonization over decades submerged in the North Atlantic. Divers can navigate along the sprawling deck, inspect deck guns and radar masts, or explore prepared swim-throughs with appropriate wreck training.
Well-preserved destroyer escort features including gun mounts and bridge structure
Dense carpets of white and orange frilled anemones blanketing the steel hull
Prowling cold-water fish schools and large crustaceans sheltered inside open compartments
