Dive-site story
The Kolkhoznik, colloquially known as the Russian Wreck, is a historical Soviet steamship that sank off Sambro in during the Second World War. Carrying war supplies toward the Atlantic convoy routes, the vessel struck a reef and went down, leaving cargo sections, machinery, and hull plating scattered along the seabed. Because of its open-ocean exposure and depth, the site presents a demanding cold-water dive that rewards experienced divers with massive iron structures and historical artifacts encrusted in North Atlantic marine growth.
