Dive-site story
Located along the rugged coastline of Cabo Tiñoso near Cartagena, Cala Cerrada is an enclosed cove protected by steep limestone cliffs. The dive profile follows rocky walls that transition into mixed boulder fields and meadows of Posidonia seagrass before reaching open sand. Because the cove is naturally shielded from most prevailing winds and swells, it serves as a reliable dive location featuring small caverns, overhangs, and swim-throughs formed by collapsed rock slabs.
Extensive meadows of Posidonia oceanica seagrass sheltering juvenile fish and cryptic invertebrates
Sheltered cove topography featuring rocky swim-throughs and cliff base crevices
Frequent encounters with dusky groupers and moray eels along the rocky slopes
