Dive-site story
Sunk by a naval mine in 1945 south of the Île de Porquerolles, the cargo ship Prosper Schiaffino, widely known as the Donator, rests upright on a sandy seabed. Dense fields of red sea fans cloak the hull and stern wheel, making it one of the most celebrated deep wreck dives in the Mediterranean. Due to exposure to open sea currents and substantial depth, the site demands solid gas management and deep diving competency.

Schools of predatory fish patrolling the open water around the mast and superstructure
