Dive-site story
The SS Schokland was a Dutch cargo ship requisitioned during the Second World War that struck a reef and sank south of Jersey. Today, the wreck rests upright on a sandy and rocky seabed, broken into sections with the boiler, engine machinery, and collapsed hull structures clearly identifiable. Dense kelp blankets the upper metal plates, offering sheltered habitat for Atlantic fish and crustaceans.
