Dive-site story
The Kassandra was a Greek cargo vessel that struck Platourada reef in 1973 before sinking into the South Euboean Gulf. Today the wreckage rests on a sloping seabed of sand and rocky outcrops. Divers can explore the structural remains, including the intact engine section, propeller shaft, and fractured hull plates colonized by Mediterranean encrusting sponges.
