Dive-site story
Mangrove sits off the northeastern corner of Nusa Lembongan, adjacent to the island's expansive mangrove forest. The topography consists of a sloping reef carpeted with sprawling fields of branching hard corals, cabbage corals, and sponges that descend gradually into the channel. Given its exposure to tidal water exchanges between the islands, the site is typically dived as a drift, allowing divers to float effortlessly along the reef structure while pelagics and reef fish cruise past in the moving water.
Extensive, healthy hard coral gardens blanketing a gentle slope
Effortless drift diving propelled by tidal currents running along the Lembongan coast
Regular encounters with resident sea turtles resting on coral bommies or grazing in the shallows
Occasional sightings of oceanic sunfish during the seasonal cold-water upwellings
