Dive-site story
Canalone is a classic canyon dive situated along the rugged limestone shores of the Bergeggi Marine Protected Area. Divers descend along a distinct rocky fissure that cuts straight through the reef wall, sheltering numerous Mediterranean species within its shaded crevices before opening out onto a deeper rubble slope. Encrusting yellow cluster anemones coat the steeper rock faces, while sea bream and wrasse school actively in the upper water column.
Deeply carved natural rock canyon cutting through the island's limestone base
Dense clusters of yellow anemones and sea fans lining the shaded crevice walls
Frequent sightings of dusky groupers and moray eels tucked into rock fissures
