Dive-site story
The Mohawk Deer was a Canadian steam cargo vessel that broke in two and sank against the rocky cliffs of the Portofino Promontory in 1967 while under tow to a scrapyard. Today, sections of the shattered hull, massive boiler machinery, and scattered plating tumble down a steep underwater incline. The wreckage forms an artificial reef deeply integrated with the Mediterranean rocky slope, offering complex swim-arounds and sheltered crevices.
