Dive-site story
Located offshore from Chioggia in the northern Adriatic Sea, this site is part of the unique Tegnùe biogenic reef system. These rocky outcroppings rise from the sandy seabed, formed over millennia by calcareous algae and serpulid worms. Dense clusters of sponges, encrusting ascidians, and bryozoans carpet the rock, creating essential habitat for benthic fish and crustacean communities in an otherwise flat sedimentary environment.
