Dive-site story
Located offshore in the northern Adriatic Sea near Chioggia, Tegnue Mestre is part of a rare network of biogenic carbonate reefs rising above the surrounding muddy seabed. These solid rock formations were built over millennia by calcareous red algae and encrusting organisms. Divers navigate across fissured blocks, overhangs, and crevices that provide substrate and shelter in an otherwise open sedimentary basin.

Dense macro life with sponges, tunicates, and sea squirts coating the rock
Frequent encounters with European lobsters and conger eels sheltering in crevices
