Dive-site story
Rising abruptly from the muddy sediment of the northern Adriatic seabed, this dive centers around a biogenic rocky outcrop formed primarily by calcareous algae and encrusting organisms. Known regionally as Tegnùe, these isolated fossilized reefs create miniature oasis environments far from the sandy shoreline. Divers navigate across heavily fissured rock blocks, crevices, and overhangs clustered with dense invertebrate communities.
Submerged biogenic carbonate outcrops unique to the north Adriatic shelf
Dense encrustations of ascidians, encrusting sponges, and colonial bryozoans
Sheltered overhangs harboring European lobsters and large conger eels
