Dive-site story
HMS Eddy was an Admiralty wooden steam drifter converted for minesweeping during the Second World War. On May 26, 1942, the vessel struck a mine and sank while clearing the Grand Harbour approaches. Resting upright on flat sand and silt outside Valletta, the wreck's superstructure has deteriorated, though the boiler, steam engine, winch, and hull framing remain identifiable under heavy marine growth.
