Dive-site story
Resting upright on the silty seabed of Kalkara Creek inside Malta's Grand Harbour, this historic passenger-cargo steamer was sunk by German air raids during World War II. Originally christened the Odile before being renamed the Margit, the vessel has broken down over decades into an atmospheric structural framework covered in harbour silt and marine growth. Navigating the wreck requires cautious finning because fine sediment easily clouds the water.
