Dive-site story
Arrecife Anegada de Adentro is one of the key emergent platform reefs within the Veracruz Reef System National Park. Located just northeast of Veracruz harbour, the reef structure drops into sandy bottoms with coral terraces, undercut ledges, and spur-and-groove formations. Large brain corals, sea fans, and massive sponge colonies cover the seaward slopes, providing habitat for typical Gulf of Mexico pelagic and reef fauna.
Extensive coral ridges and spur-and-groove formations on the outer reef slope
Frequent encounters with schooling barracuda, tarpon, and southern stingrays
Vigorous stands of gorgonians and large barrel sponges
