Dive-site story
The Cement Wreck is the MV Tung Hwang, a freighter carrying cement supplies to Brunei that struck the Samarang Bank and sank in nineteen-eighty. Resting upright on a flat seabed off the coast of Labuan, the vessel has transformed into an artificial reef completely enveloped in hard and soft corals, sea fans, and sponges. The superstructure, cargo holds, and mast structures remain intact, offering accessible swim-throughs for wreck-certified divers alongside prolific fish aggregation on the exterior.
Extensive soft coral encrustation covering the masts, railings, and wheelhouse
Large schools of pelagic fish circling above the upright superstructure
Wide cargo hold spaces suitable for supervised wreck exploration
