Dive-site story
Located off the coast of Fajardo along the Cordillera Reef system, Sand Slide is characterized by hard and soft coral spurs that flank a prominent sandy channel. Divers drift or cruise along the sloping reef edges where stingrays often rest partially buried in the sand. The surrounding coral heads provide shelter for juvenile fish and crustaceans, while pelagics occasionally patrol the outer blue.
Pronounced sand chute dividing spur-and-groove coral formations
Frequent southern stingray and nurse shark encounters along the sandy floor
Healthy patches of sea fans, brain corals, and gorgonians
