Dive-site story
Located off the coast of Isabela in northwestern Puerto Rico, this shoreline site centers around a sandy depression encircled by shallow coral reef and an intricate network of limestone caverns. Divers enter from the beach and navigate across a shallow reef flat before descending into the main amphitheater. Extensive underwater tunnels cut through the barrier reef toward the open Atlantic, offering dramatic light beams and shelter for sleeping nurse sharks. Strong ocean swells dominate during the winter surf season, making this primarily a calm-season excursion.
