Dive-site story
Haji is a sheltered coral garden located off the northern tip of Unguja Island, frequently visited by dive operators based around Nungwi and Kendwa. The site consists of a gently undulating reef bank that slopes toward an open sandy bed dotted with coral bommies. Because currents here tend to remain manageable compared to the offshore banks, divers can take time examining overhangs, crevasses, and table coral formations.
Extensive hard and soft coral gardens hosting diverse invertebrate populations
Frequent encounters with resting green sea turtles and blue-spotted ribbontail rays
Excellent macro life tucked among crevices, including nudibranchs and leaf scorpionfish
