Dive-site story
Positioned along Pensacola Pass at the western tip of Santa Rosa Island, this shore dive follows the submerged rock structures of the historic military jetty. Massive granite boulders create artificial reef habitat along a sandy slope descending into the shipping channel. Because the pass handles significant tidal volume between Pensacola Bay and the Gulf of Mexico, diving here requires strict coordination with slack water to avoid powerful currents.
Extensive boulder piles sheltering macro life and juvenile game fish
Frequent encounters with foraging sea turtles and coastal stingrays along the rubble line
Accessible shore entry directly off Gulf Islands National Seashore beaches
