Dive-site story
The Jim Atria is a Dutch freighter sunk in the late 1980s as part of Broward County's artificial reef program. Originally resting in shallower water, the hull was shifted deeper by Hurricane Andrew and now rests on its port side in a soft sand plain. Sponge growth and sea fans cover the exterior plating, while the structure provides shelter for pelagics passing through the offshore currents.
