Dive-site story
Situated along the dramatic volcanic coastline of Lanai, Menpachi Caves features a network of undercut ledges, lava tubes, and cavernous overhangs. Sunbeams filter through ceiling skylights to illuminate volcanic rock formations and coral gardens below. The site takes its local name from the dense schools of red soldierfish congregating in the shadows of the volcanic caverns.
Interconnected lava tubes and cavern swim-throughs pierced by natural skylights
Large schools of soldierfish sheltering beneath volcanic basalt overhangs
Green sea turtles resting along the ledges and volcanic shelves
