Dive-site story
Located off the coast of Key Biscayne, Neptune Memorial Reef is an artistic underwater columbarium conceived as an interpretation of the Lost City of Atlantis. Sculpted concrete lions, classical columns, benches, and arched entryways form an extensive artificial reef footprint on the sandy seafloor. Hard and soft corals have heavily colonized the man-made structures, turning memorials and plaques into thriving habitat for coastal Florida reef species.
Submerged classical architecture including detailed concrete lion statues, gates, and carved columns
Dense colonization of gorgonians, brain corals, and sea fans covering the structures
Frequent resting nurse sharks and large green morays hiding in plinth recesses
