Dive-site story
Located along the western shore of the Chesapeake Bay near Annapolis, this public park provides a convenient beach-entry training location for Mid-Atlantic divers. The seabed consists primarily of silt, sand, and scattered oyster beds sloping gently away from the shoreline. Due to estuarine runoff and tidal mixing, visibility tends to be very limited, making the location a frequent proving ground for compass navigation and limited-visibility skills practice.
Convenient beach access with ample parking and park amenities
Excellent training ground for low-visibility orientation and compass navigation
Opportunity to spot classic Chesapeake Bay estuary fauna
