Dive-site story
Sund Rock Marine Preserve is a renowned cold-water dive site situated along the western shore of Hood Canal. The site features a mix of sloping cobble, eelgrass beds, and prominent vertical rock walls undercut with cracks and dens. Protected from harvesting for decades, it shelters dense resident populations of apex invertebrates and bottom fish.
Extensive vertical wall system honeycombed with dens hosting giant Pacific octopuses and wolf eels
Massive plumose anemone fields coating the rock faces and offshore drop-offs
