Dive-site story
Situated along the rocky point at the northern edge of Wailea Beach on Maui's south shore, this site features shallow basalt reef fingers interspersed with patches of white sand. Coral heads of lobe and cauliflower coral coat the submerged volcanic ridges, providing habitat for a wide array of endemic Hawaiian reef fish. The gradual slope and sheltered morning waters make it an accessible shore dive, though kicking out past the sandy surf zone is required to reach the deeper coral formations.
Lava finger reefs colonized by hard corals and sea urchins
Frequent encounters with resting Hawaiian green sea turtles along the outer ledges
Sheltered conditions ideal for easy navigation and relaxed macro photography
