Dive-site story
The B.V.I. Art Reef features the Kodiak Queen, a historic Navy fuel barge that survived the attack on Pearl Harbor before being transformed into an artificial reef and underwater art installation. Positioned off Virgin Gorda, the vessel was scuttled crowned with an expansive mesh kraken sculpture crafted by local artists. While major storms subsequently compressed some of the metal kraken armature, the remaining structural framework, wheelhouse, and spacious deck compartments provide an engaging wreck profile surrounded by sandy seabed.
