Dive-site story
Komati Springs is a flooded former mine located in Mpumalanga that has evolved into one of the premier technical, trimix, and cave diving facilities in Southern Africa. The site features an open-water basin with stepped quarry walls that lead into an extensive, interconnected labyrinth of flooded mine shafts and deep underground caverns. Diver training platforms and shot lines are set up across the main basin, while technical divers utilize the deeper shafts for mixed-gas exploration and overhead-environment practice.
