Dive-site story
The RMS Athens was an iron-hulled steamship driven ashore during the Great Gale of 1865 off Mouille Point. Today, the scattered wreckage rests in shallow water just off the rocky shoreline, dominated by kelp forests and turbulent Atlantic surge. Divers can inspect heavily encrusted iron framing, propeller shaft sections, and engine block remains embedded among granite boulders.
