Located along the eastern shore of False Bay below the steep coastal cliffs of the R44, Vogelsteen consists of a rugged rocky reef flanked by sandy patches and kelp forests. Boulders, gullies, and small drop-offs provide shelter for endemic cold-temperate marine species adapted to South African coastal upwellings.
