Dive-site story
Tschatscheleria is an alpine lake dive site situated along the shores of Lake Weissensee in Carinthia. Divers encounter a gentle littoral zone thick with freshwater vegetation before the lakebed drops off into a silty, sloping wall. Sunken logs and drift debris provide shelter for predatory fish along the descent, and submerged root systems form atmospheric swim-bys in the shallows.
Submerged wood structures and fallen trees acting as fish aggregation points
Steep underwater slope transitioning from lush weed beds to fine silt
Frequent encounters with territorial northern pike holding in the shallows
