Dive-site story
Located along the eastern shore of Lake Attersee, Unterwasserwald gets its name from an arrangement of submerged tree trunks resting on a steep freshwater slope. Divers descend past silty sediment benches and fallen wood that provide shelter for lake fish. Visibility tends to be sharpest outside of peak summer algae blooms, with chilly temperatures beneath the thermocline demanding appropriate thermal protection.
