Located off South Maroubra Headland, Magic Point is Sydney's premier aggregation site for endangered grey nurse sharks. Divers drop onto rocky gutters and amphitheaters beneath sandstone cliffs, where sharks hover steadily into the swell inside shallow overhangs and natural caves. Beyond the shark gutters, sponge-encrusted reef terraces slope out to sandy flats harboring weedy seadragons and bottom-dwelling rays.
