Dive-site story
Rising sharply from the seabed in the northern section of the Solitary Islands Marine Park, Pimpernel Rock is an isolated underwater pinnacle exposed to open ocean currents. A cavernous natural tunnel pierces straight through the rock formation, creating dramatic swim-throughs where grey nurse sharks gather along the sandy floor. Massive black cod linger in shadowed crevices, while pelagic predators patrol the sheer outer drop-offs amidst dense sea fans and sponge gardens.
