Dive-site story
The SS Satara was a British-India Steam Navigation Company passenger-cargo steamer that struck Edith Breaker and foundered off the coast of Seal Rocks in April 1910. Today, the wreck rests upright on a sandy seafloor, largely intact in its lower hull and engine structures, though the upper decks have collapsed over a century of marine exposure. Its offshore location exposes it to oceanic currents that attract pelagic predators alongside sedentary bottom dwellers.
