Situated along the Tamar River estuary near George Town in northern Tasmania, The Monument provides access to rich temperate estuarine and marine life. Rocky reefs transition into sponge-covered boulders and silty patches influenced by tidal movements from Bass Strait. Because the estuary experiences significant water exchange, timing dives with slack tide is critical for comfortable exploration.
