Dive-site story
Located off Renaissance Island, this site features the submerged fuselages of two passenger aircraft resting on a sandy sloping bottom. A twin-engine Convair was sunk deliberately in the late 1980s and later broken into sections by hurricane surge, while a larger YS-11 airliner remains remarkably intact nearby with its cockpit and cabin open to gentle swim-throughs. Soft corals and encrusting sponges cling to the aluminum frames, drawing schooling reef fish into the sheltered cabins.
