Dive-site story
Sunk intentionally in 2000 to create an artificial reef off Aruba's northwestern coast, the Star Gerren is a former cargo vessel resting upside down on a flat sand seafloor. The vessel's hull has broken open in sections over time, creating spacious swim-throughs and allowing ample natural light into the structure. Yellowtail snappers and barracuda frequently patrol above the keel while bottom dwellers rest in the sheltered pockets beneath the wreckage.
Inverted cargo ship structure forming expansive sheltered caverns underneath
Reliable encounters with southern stingrays resting in the surrounding sand
Easily navigable wreck layout suitable for open water divers and wreck training
