Dive-site story
The Norwegian freighter Iristo, also known as the Aristo, struck the reef near North Rock in 1937 after its captain mistook the wrecked Cristobal Colon for an active ship. Today, the vessel rests broken apart across coral ridges off the northern coast of Bermuda. Divers can explore machinery from its cargo, including heavy diesel tractors, road rollers, and truck chassis that spilled across the seafloor, while the ship's engine block and boilers remain prominent anchors of the site.
