Dive-site story
Situated within the southern permitted sector of the Arvoredo Marine Biological Reserve, Baia do Engenho provides a naturally sheltered cove on Arvoredo Island. Granite boulders tumble into a sandy basin, creating fissures and overhangs inhabited by subtropical Atlantic reef fauna. Because swell is largely deflected by the island's geography, the site functions as one of Santa Catarina's primary staging grounds for open-water checkouts and relaxed navigation dives.
