Located off the southern coast of Ilha do Arvoredo, Vidal sits within the regulated boundary of the Arvoredo Marine Biological Reserve. The topography is defined by large granite boulders tumbled across a gently sloping sandy seafloor, creating swim-throughs and crevices that shelter subtropical marine species. It is accessible primarily via day dive boats departing from Bombinhas or Florianópolis.
