Dive-site story
Situated outside the barrier reef off San Pedro on Ambergris Caye, Esmeralda is characterized by pronounced spur-and-groove coral formations. Narrow coral ridges run perpendicular to the shoreline, partitioned by clean sand chutes. Nurse sharks and large black groupers regularly trail dive groups through the coral alleys, while green moray eels peer out from undercut ledges.
