Dive-site story
Situated along the central section of the Belize Barrier Reef east of Belize City, Gallows Point is defined by classic spur-and-groove coral formations sloping toward deeper open ocean. Hard coral ridges topped with brain corals, sea plumes, and massive star corals run perpendicular to the reef crest, interspersed with wide sand chutes. Water movement along the outer reef edge supplies nutrients that sustain healthy soft coral colonies and attract cruising pelagics.
Well-defined spur-and-groove formations alternating with white sand channels
Frequent encounters with resting nurse sharks and foraging stingrays in the channels
Expansive sea fans and gorgonian gardens along the upper reef slope
