Dive-site story
Located off the northwest side of Long Caye in Lighthouse Reef Atoll, this dive site features an intricate spur-and-groove reef top that transitions abruptly into a dramatic vertical wall. Dense forests of deep-water gorgonians, azure vase sponges, and yellow pencil coral crowd the shelf edge. Dense schools of pelagic and reef fish congregate along the drop-off, fed by oceanic currents washing over the atoll.
Vast expanses of azure vase, barrel, and rope sponges encrusting the drop-off
Schools of creole wrasse cascading down the vertical wall face
Frequent flybys from Caribbean reef sharks and spotted eagle rays in the blue
Healthy stands of black coral jutting out from wall overhangs
