Dive-site story
The P.B. Locke is a three-masted wooden schooner built in 1873 that foundered in Lake Ontario during a storm in 1912. Resting upright on the lake floor off Port Hope, the vessel remains largely intact, featuring standing framing, deck machinery, and a windlass. Cold freshwater preservation has kept the timber structures solid, though invasive quagga mussels encrust much of the hull.
