Dive-site story
Resting upright in the sheltered waters of Big Tub Harbour within Fathom Five National Marine Park, this two-masted schooner remains one of the best-preserved nineteenth-century wooden shipwrecks in North America. Built in Burlington in 1867 and damaged near Cove Island before sinking in 1885, the vessel features intact hull planking, deck beams, and a massive windlass. Due to its shallow positioning and clear waters, the site attracts both scuba divers and snorkelers navigating the calm harbour.
