Dive-site story
Riedsort is a classic freshwater wall dive situated on the northern shore of Lake Lucerne between Weggis and Vitznau. Divers enter from the shore and descend over a sloping shelf that quickly transitions into a sheer, vertical limestone cliff plunging into deep, dark water. Boulders, crevices, and submerged tree roots provide shelter for cold-water fauna along the upper ledges, while the wall itself offers dramatic alpine lake topography for experienced divers equipped for low temperatures and deep profiles.
Steep limestone wall dropping into profound depths directly off the lake shore
Rocky overhangs and crevices harboring nocturnal burbot and perching fish
Excellent winter clarity ideal for practicing deep cold-water diving skills
